Field Marshal Lord Carver GCB, CBE, DSO, MC (British)
Carver held important command and staff appointments at home and abroad. He was Chief of the General Staff, and, as a Field Marshal, Chief of The Defence Staff in 1973. He was the author of 15 books. He died in 2001.
