Professor Sir Hew Strachan (British)

Strachan was, at the time of publication of the first volume of his History of the Great War, Professor of Modern History and Director of the Scottish Centre for War Studies at Glasgow University, and he was also a Life Fellow of Corpus Christi College, Cambridge. He then spent many years at the University of Oxford as Chichele Professor of Military History, then moved to the University of St. Andrews, where he was the Wardlaw Professor of International Relations. He was also Emeritus Fellow of All Souls College, Oxford.
