Mark Bostridge (British)

Bostridge won the Gladstone Memorial Prize at Oxford University. His first book was a biography of Vera Brittain which was shortlisted for the Whitbread Biography Prize. His subsequent writing career tended towards biography. His book "1914", which we have in the Collection, brings a novelist's eye for telling detail and character and a historian's instinct for authentic fact to his subject.
