Walter Reid (British)
Reid was the author of a number of acclaimed works of military and political history, with a focus on British imperial policy. He was educated at Oxford and Edinburgh Universities. He was a professional writer. However, in tandem with that career, he and his wife farmed in Argyll and he also grew olives in France.
