Alan H. Maude

Maude was the nephew of Dr. Arthur Maude, who was a renowned classical scholar. During the 1930s, Dr. Maude and his nephew tried unsuccessfully to find a publisher for Dr. Maude's poetical translations. Alan Maude tried to enlist the help of Liddell Hart in finding a publisher, apparently also unsuccessfully. This does reveal a link between the younger Maude and Liddell Hart but nothing further is known at the present time. However, the Maude papers are lodged with Bangor University.
