Cecil Lewis

Lewis was a fighter pilot in the war. He went to serve on the Somme Front when he was only 18. He scored 8 victories and was awarded the M.C. He survived the war and served in WW2 as an Instructor. Among his aeronautical achievements was a solo flight from London to Johannesburg. Lewis was also one of the founders of the BBC, going on to be a playwright and screenwriter. He won an Academy Award in 1938 for his adaption of Pygmalion.
