E. Keble Chatterton

Keble Chatterton (1878 - 1944) was a lieutenant-commander in the RNVR. He served in the Auxiliary Patrol. He was a sailor and a prolific writer even before the war. He had voyaged across the English Channel, to the Netherlands, around the Mediterranean and through the French canals. This all led to many articles and books. He joined the RNVR at the outbreak of the war to command a flotilla of motor launches. He left the service as a lieutenant-commander. In 1918 he was appointed to the Naval Section of the Official History Committee, where he worked until 1922.
