Robert A. Perry
Perry was, by his own admission "no historian", but his grandfather, Leonard William Perry, was a soldier and served 27 years with the Army, including throughout the war. Perry Junr found himself operating a Bed & Breakfast business at Langemark, and following many requests from his guests, started guiding them around the Flanders battlefields; this led on to his writing his book on Third Ypres.
