Lieutenant Colonel A.C.N. Olden DSO

According to the Introduction to his book on Westralian Cavalry, Olden joined the regiment on its inception and served with it through the war, temporarily commanding it during the absence (wounded) of Colonel Todd, the regular battalion commander, on more than one occasion, most notably the Second Battle of Gaza. He finally succeeded to the command after Colonel Todd's death: so he was well qualified to write the regiment's history.
