Professor William Van der Kloot

Kloot was born in the US and served with the US Navy at the tail end of the Second World War. He then studied Biology at Harvard, with shorter periods at the University of Chicago and at Cambridge. He then researched and taught at Harvard, Cornell, NYU School of Medicine, and Stony Brook University, where he became a distinguished professor of physiology and biomedics. He had been interested throughout his life in the Great War; he aimed to add to the limited knowledge of what science did for the war.
