Barrie Barnes
After leaving school at the age of 15, Barnes spent 15 years in unskilled occupations. He then enrolled at Hull Art College, where he took a BA Hons degree. He then took a Masters of Philosophy degree at Hull University, that being on the basis of his book on the Hull Pals (See in "Regiments"). His day job was a teacher.
