John W. Burrows
Google tells us nothing about this author, but (so far!) the only book he authored was the Regimental History of the 1st Battalion Essex regiment, and the publisher's name was Burrows, although a different one. It is clear from the Author's Preface in that book that he had not been a member of the Battalion.
