Captain R. Ede England
This officer served with the 12th Battalion KOYLI during the war. He wrote the original history of the battalion in the early Twenties. He was a local man educated at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in Wakefield. His father was originally from Sheffield, he was a Tramways Manager who worked for a time in Bolton, where England and his two brothers were born.
The original of his history of the 12th KOYLI was published privately in Wakefield. Only three copies are known to survive.
