Norman Nicol

Nicol left secondary school in Scotland without any formal qualifications in 1963. For the next 30 years he worked in a variety of engineering environments as a fitter. In his mid forties he enrolled in an (unspecified) university on an "access course", and then became a mature student. He later worked in the teaching profession. His great hobby was gathering and collating data.
