Brigadier-General J.H.V. Crowe

Crowe was in command of the Royal Artillery contingent in East Africa during the period covered by his description of Smuts' campaign ("General Smuts' Campaign in East Africa" - q.v.). In that capacity he was in the company of Smuts during the campaign, so he was a good eye witness.
