Andrew Bamji

Bamji studied medicine in London and worked as a Consultant Physician in rheumatology and rehabilitation at Queen Mary's Hospital in Sidcup from 1983 until 2011. He was a consultant archivist of the hospital from 1989 onwards. He acquired the files of the British and New Zealand sections working at Sidcup during the Great War. There were 2,500 files, which included surgical notes, X-rays, diagrams and watercolours. From these records he put together his book about Harold Gillies (q.v.)
