Johan Vandewalle

Vandewalle was born and brought up in Zonnebeke. He grew up surrounded by the legacy of the Great War. Although latterly he plied his trade as a skilled carpenter, he was formerly a professional civil engineer tunneller . He also had another trade - the owner of the Café de Dreve at the corner of Polygon Wood.
