General Fieldmarshal Count Alfred Von Schlieffen

Von Schlieffen (1833 - 1913) was the creator of the famous (or perhaps infamous) "Schlieffen Plan" which the German Army under Moltke The Younger attempted to carry out in the first few weeks of conflict on the Western Front, and which famously went wrong. Von Schlieffen was the Chief of the General Staff of the German Army at the time of the preparation of the Plan.
