Ralph D. Cole

Cole was born in Ohio in 1873. He was admitted to the bar in 1900 and practiced in Findlay, Ohio. He served as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives from 1900 to 1904. Then he was elected as a Republican to the 59th, 60th and 61st Congresses between 1905 and 1911. He failed to be elected for the succeeding Congress and went back to the practice of law and also carried on with his political career at a lower level. He enlisted in June 1917, and he served with the 37th Division as a major and then lieutenant Colonel, taking part in a number of major engagements. He died after a car accident in 1932. He was the Divisional Historian of the 37th Division.
