A.M. Bown

Bown volunteered in 1914, whilst still a 20 year old studying sciences at Oxford. He became an artillery subaltern and remained one throughout the war. He was wounded twice, and won the Military Cross for bravery. He wrote about his experiences in "Was it Yesterday?" (q.v.) but in the form of a novel.
