Major Phelps Hodges
Hodges (1894 - 1977) was the son of A. Hodges, the author. He attended Sherborne School between 1910 and 1912. In the war, he was a substantive captain but an acting major in the R.F.A. He was awarded the M.C., he was also Mentioned in Despatches, and wounded.
He was attached to the Military Mission to Siberia in 1919 - 1920, and when the White Russians were overcome by the Bolsheviks he escaped with others across the Gobi Desert to Peking.
