Perry Moore
Moore was an amateur military historian, who had started as a member of a wargames discussion group. He received an email from one of his contacts in that group and which happened to mention Allied intervention in the Russian Civil War. He knew nothing about this episode, even thinking at first that the reference was a joke.
All of this led him to deep research on the subject, which sparked an enduring interest in it. Based in the USA, he carried out a lot of his research in the Public Records Office in London, partly using a researcher based in the UK.
He then set to writing his book on the Intervention (q.v.). He proposes in the book that it is "bar none the most comprehensive on the topic". He suggests that it could be regarded as the source book on Allied Intervention in the Russian Civil War.
