Admiral of the Fleet Lord Rosslyn Erskine Wemyss
Rosslyn Wemyss was created First Baron Wester-Wemyss after the war's end. He was Sir Rosslyn Wemyss between 1916 and 1919. He was Commander of the 12th Cruiser Squadron, and then Governor of Moudros, before he led the British landings at Cape Helles and Suvla Bay at the outset of the Gallipoli Campaign. Following the withdrawal from Gallipoli, he became Commander of the East Indies and Egypt Squadron and then became First Sea Lord in 1917. In that role he was a moving spirit behind the Zeebrugge Raid. He was the Senior British Representative at the signing of the Armistice.RCC7847 The Navy in the Dardanelles Campaign (Wemyss)
