Lieutenant-General M. von Poseck
von Poseck's full name was Maximilian von Poseck and his final rank in his army career was General de Kavallerie. He was born in 1865 in Rastaff and died in 1946 in Berge. His father was a Prussian major and his mother was Mary Harvey Boys. (Perhaps she was American or British?) He joined the army in April 1885 as a second lieutenant in the 1st Badische Leib-Dragoer Regiment No. 20 of the Prussian Army. By the outbreak of war he was a colonel and became Chief of the General Staff of the Higher Cavalry Command No. 2, which was deployed to the Western Front. He commanded the Guards Ersatz Division during the 1918 Spring Offensive. He was promoted to Lieutenant-General in 1920, and became Inspector of Cavalry in the Reich Ministry of Defence. In 1925 he was promoted to Inspector of Cavalry but a year later he was retired.RCC7852 The German Cavalry 1914 in Belgium and France (von Poseck)
