Caroline Stevens

Stevens was born and brought up in Uganda and Kenya. She was the granddaughter of one of Kate Luard's brothers, Hugh Bixby Luard. After she returned to the UK in the mid 1950s, she visited Kate, who by that time was bedridden. She trained as an occupational therapist at a time when many patients referred were veterans of both world wars.
