Dr. Philip Rance

Rance was a historian and classicist who had published extensively on military literature and culture. He had taught at universities in the UK and Germany and held senior research fellowships at Munich and Istanbul. He lived in Berlin, where he held a Humboldt Foundation Renewed Research Fellowship at the Freie Universitat.
