Karl Kautsky

Kautsky was born in Austria in about 1855, but lived most of his life in Germany. However, between 1885 and 1890 he lived in London, in close association with Friedrich Engels. Kautsky served International Socialism "with high literary ability, great learning and unusual aptitude for sociological research" according to the Editor's Preface in his book "The Dictatorship of the Proletariat".
