Canon Melville Harcourt

Harcourt was originally a New Zealand priest but later served in the Episcopal Church of America. He was Rector of St. Ann's, The Diocesan Church, Bishop's Vicar and Canon to the Ordinary in the Diocese of Long Island, New York, He was an established author. One of his books -"I Appeal", which was concerned with a cause celebre, was held to be largely responsible for the establishment of a Criminal Court of Appeal Court in New Zealand. He initiated the actions which brought Tubby Clayton to the USA after World War 2.
