Margalit Fox
Fox was the winner of the William Saroyan International Prize for Writing.
She trained as a linguist and was a senior writer at the New York Times. She was a prominent contributor to the newspaper's celebrated Obituary News Department.
She lived in Manhattan with her husband, the writer and critic, George Robinson.
