Jim Ring
Ring was an award winning author and film maker.
He graduated from Brasenose College, Oxford, in 1979 and joined the advertising industry in its heyday. He then started writing non-fiction books, culminating in "We Come Unseen", the first book to tell the story of Britain's Cold War submarines.
Then in 2005 he co-founded a TV production company for which he made a series of documentaries.
