Dr Gerard De Groot
De Groot was born in 1955 in San Diego, California, to parents who had emigrated to the U.S.A. from The Netherlands 5 years earlier. He earned his B.A. degree from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington then in 1980 he undertook a Ph.D. at Edinburgh University, his subject being the early life of Haig.
