Daniel J. McLean

McLean joined the Royal Navy as a midshipman when he was 18. After 6 years service in the Navy he read Theology at Oriel College Oxford before embarking on a teaching career. He spent 8 years as a Head of Department at Ardingley College and then Rugby School, where he also commanded the C.C.F. At the time of writing the book on the Royal Marines on the Western Front which we have in the Collection he was a Housemaster at Downside School in Somerset.
