Lewis Grassic Gibbon
Gibbon was born in 1901 and died in 1935. This was the pen name of James Leslie Mitchell, who was born and brought up in the rich farming country of North-East Scotland. He was a prolific writer of novels, short stories and essays, and had 17 full length books published before his death. Today, he is recognised as one of the outstanding figures of Scottish literature, most famous for the trilogy "A Scots Quair", which begins with "Sunset Song", which is in the Collection.RCC8318 Sunset Song (Gibbon)
