This book was bought in March 2010 from Waterstones in Bath. The lady who served me told me that her Grandfather was in the B.E.F. and was wounded at Mons, where he lost a leg. On returning to Blighty, he suffered the indignity of being offered a white feather on a number of occasions. My informant was not aware of her grandfather's regiment, but he was a Scot, so that might give some sort of clue.
