This is the story of a party of Durham miners who went on a "short break" to Hamburg in early August of 1914, and were caught by the outbreak of the war. They ended up in Ruhleben Camp in Berlin. Whilst this publication is little more than a pamphlet, it does give us some sort of a "feeling" for what life in the camp was like.
