This is a First Edition. The book is inscribed "With Colonel Vickers Dunfee's best wishes, Xmas 1921". Vickers Dunfee had been associated with this Territorial battalion since just after the turn of the century. He had retired in 1908 but had been brought back to command the battalion on the outbreak of war. He was M.I.D. at Gallipoli. He was involved with the organising of the end of war commemorations which the battalion took part in. The 2/4th had been disbanded in June 1916 and most of the men went to the 1/4th battalion. Capt Walker was assisted in the writing of the book by Capt F.C.J. Read, who compiled the personal services of each man.
