Was at the very least a portion of what we think we know about Lawrence and the Arab Revolt an exaggerated account, very possibly self publicity on the part of Lawrence although much might be laid at Lowell Thomas's door. Mousa apparently wrote this book, as he saw it, to set the record straight. The reason was that he believed that Lawrence's role had been talked up and the true story of what had happened had not come out fully. Thus, given the present Middle East state of play, this book resonates considerably. It is up to the reader to draw conclusions.
