The Battle of Neuve Chapelle: Britain's Forgotten Offensive of 1915
The title of this book refers to the "forgotten" offensive. In many ways 1915 remains the forgotten year of the Western Front. Given that it saw the slow and always painful process of the BEF realising what sort of war it had entered, and trying to adapt to the new conditions, and with French giving way to Haig, that's a pity. The early battles of the year, Second Ypres apart, are fairly poorly recorded and so this book is a very welcome addition to the Collection.
