This is a new "take" on the life of Douglas Haig, not by a professional biographer, but by his wife, who - one supposes - would be able to give an accurate picture of the man. Haig always expected his story to be written by his wife. He is depicted as a much "warmer" individual than the conventional view of the man, and whatever one thinks of the possible bias in Dorothy Haig's story, it is well worth reading.
