This is a personal story. The title of the book gives us the central theme, but surrounding this is the story of a small Border town's war, in all sorts of aspects. The story also carries on from the end of the war, and traces the Robeson Family and its later achievements in the life of Kelso and the Borders.
This is a beautifully and extremely professionally presented book. It reflects the great community spirit which is still very much alive in small Border towns like Kelso. The author, and all those who contributed to this book, are to be congratulated.
