This is a rare book on a sometimes obscure event - the Czech Legion during the Civil War. The author was a well respected foreign policy analyst, his work here is academically engaging, so that an important event affecting the emergence of modern Europe is told in an accessible manner. Needless to say, when we found this book (in the wonderful Barter's Books in Alnwick) we were delighted.
