We Die Like Brothers: The Sinking of the SS Mendi
This is the story of the SS Mendi, a Liverpool steamship which sank in February 1917 with the loss of hundreds of men of the South African Native Labour Corps (sanlc). It provides the opportunity for maritime archaeology to contribute to the growing awareness and recognition of the role of, and the sacrifices made by, not only sanlc but also in general the non European, non-white societies of the British Empire and its Dominions during the Great War.
The book was co-authored by John Gribble and Graham Scott.
