We have categorised this book in "Cartoons" (as opposed to "Personal Accounts") because the book is absolutely crammed with drawings by Maultsaid, most of which are cartoons or are as close to cartoons as not to matter. The book is a gem with so many illustrations, but we should not forget the text, which is at the same time ironic but yet an accurate representation of this soldier's life during the war, warts and all. Most enjoyable.
