By the time Dancocks had written this book, he had written several books about the Canadian contribution at the Western Front, including a biography of Arthur Currie. So he knew his subject well, and his story of the Canadians at Second Ypres - their first battle as a comprehensive unit - is well written and we regard it as a very useful addition to our story of the conflict at Ypres.
