This is a book which grew out of the author's course in First World War Studies at the University of Birmingham. The book is alleged to be the first to explore the value of the motorcycle to communications, and how the despatch riders prevented German victory. This may well hold some truth: the subject has certainly been ignored in published works, and this book is a welcome addition to The Collection
