Historical Records of the 18th (Service) Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers (1st Tyneside Pioneers)
This book was printed for private distribution by The Council of the Newcastle and Gateshead Incorporated Chamber of Commerce, The Guildhall, Newcastle-on-Tyne.
The book is a typical battalion history of the time. It is authored by an officer who raised and trained and then commanded the battalion, being its C.O, for a large part of the war. He also wrote other war histories of N.F. units.
There is an "Introductory Note" by Major-General Sir Lothian Nicholson, KCB, CMG, the Divisional Commander.
The book also has a dedication to Sergeant J.M. Bremmer to commemorate his service with the battalion. This service is confirmed by the records of those who served with the battalion incorporated as an appendix to the book.
