Germany's Aims in the First World War

This book was first published in Germany in 1961 under the title "Griff nach der Weltmacht". It was translated into English in 1967. There is an Introduction to the American Edition by Hajo Holborn of Yale University. There is a Further Introduction to the British Edition by James Joll of the LSE. Finally, there are four Forewords by the author (this book is the Fourth Edition). As one of the reviews of this book stated, "a book at once scholarly and dramatic; without it neither the history of modern Germany nor the First World War can be adequately understood". (Fritz Stern of Columbia University). Nothing more need be said by us.
