This is not really a book which describes the uniforms the troops wore; which makes it a useful complement to the Brasseys which we already have in the Collection. It is much more than that, although chapter One does have an ample description of the uniforms themselves.
The book is the story of the providing and maintenance of the uniforms from all aspects including the logistics involved. It is a comprehensive story and in our opinion for an amateur historian (admittedly writing about what people wore - and she was a clothes professional) the book is a tour de force and a very useful addition to the Collection.
