Images of War Special. The German Army from Mobilisation to First Ypres. Rare Photographs from Wartime Archives.

This book has been put together by Bob Carruthers, a Pen & Sword author, but it is really the work of Otto Schwink (q.v.). In 1917 he was a captain on the German General Staff for the Field Army, and he was ordered to produce a book to be called "The Germans at Ypres 1914". This entailed the collection of numerous images and the writing of an accompanying text by Schwink. Thus this book traces its ancestry to the original 1917 publication.
