The Army Corps of the First World War
This is a researcher's book. It is interesting because it is an original N & M publication, as opposed to a modern reprint.
The book is exactly what the title suggests. It is a very full record of every corps which served with the BEF in the war, including the Canadians, Australians, New Zealanders, Indians and other corps from the Mesopotamian and Palestine theatres of war; but it does not include other units with "corps" in their title - e.g. the RAMC, RFC and so on.
For each corps there is a brief history, a note of all commanding officers and their tenure, and their composition - divisions and other units - throughout the war. Battle Honours are set out, and the location/s of the Corps HQ throughout the war.
As we say, a true researcher's book.
